The much anticipated volunteers of Children Sure House who came to build a school in Maboga Village, Ssese islands, finally arrived on the island to kick start a voluntary service of building a primary school in one of the forgotten villages of Uganda called Maboga in Kalangala District.
Visiting from Treasure Valley Church of Christ in Boise Idaho USA and led by an evangelist David Weidner together with his wife Robin Weidner a renown writer and a woman Ministry, the 17 member group of disciples was received at Entebbe airport by a BIG group of disciples of The International Church of Christ Kampala Uganda led by Evangelist Richard and Florence Ahenda. The visitors were scheduled to stay in Uganda from 30th of May up to the 12th of June 2013.
Visiting River Nile in Uganda
The goal of their visit among others was to visit the church in Luwero which they funded, build a school for CSH in Ssese Island, encourage the whole International Churches of Christ in Uganda and visit the National Park. In the picture above they visited the source of the River Nile which has significant biblical history.
The children of our project got new clothes, school bags and leant to put on shoes for the first time. Thanks to our volunteers from Boise Idaho.

The volunteers engaged in the actual work of constructing a four classroom block for the CSH Ssese project.
A sewing machine was also donated to one of our needy community member called Miss. Mulema. She is a disabled woman who has been making uniforms for our CSH orphans in Budaada project. She appreciated so much and said that her life will never be the same. Her business is so boosted.

A three days trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park revealed the other side of Uganda to the visitors. Kato (in the picture below was a fantastic driver)

Uganda was named the Pearl of Africa by the then Prime Minister of Britain Winston Churchill because of her beauty and wild life. Although the volunteers did not see the lion, they were able to see the other BIG 5 hyenas, buffalo, assortment of antelopes, warthogs and many birds.

The last days of the volunteers were full activities. Volunteers enjoyed the Sunday afternoon a typical Ugandan Traditional Dance at Ndere Troupe.
At Flamart/CSH headquarters in Bulenga, volunteers had their quiet time, game time and relaxing. This is where all volunteers sleep and spend most of the time.
Saying good-bye to our friends was one of the most difficult thing for both the visitors and the hosts.
The visit for the disciples from Boise Idaho has brought about hope and a positive attitude towards the communities we serve. The children are flocking in to our Ssese CSH School project to access the free education rendered. They are very positive and enthusiastic about the future.
